Started paddling in my youth in a local river race that features handmade boats. Stich and glue type flat bottom, high rocker, 2-person, (canoe?). Layed off paddling after high school with a rare canoe paddle maybe once a year. Just happened to stop by a kayak demo day and fell in love with with it all over again. I now have 1 canoe, 3 plastic kayaks and a newly finished(almost) cedar strip Baidarka, which I am proud of(North Star by Laughing Loon). Too much fun building to stop now, so I am looking at trying my hand with a skin on frame next. I paddle out of Buzzard's Bay on Cape Cod,MA., but I am moving to Fla.'s West Palm Beach area. Looking for new waters to paddle. I enjoy this forum and it has helped me quite a bit in the process of building.Thanks to Nick, And everyone else that helps us in need.
