I am 45 year old executive in a Boston software company. About 5 years ago I went on a quest to build a Adirondack Guide boat and somewhere along the way got lost and built a Guillemot Expedition Single. I found the building experience one of the most engrossing and enjoyable wood project I’ve ever done. More importantly I found the subsequent kayaking trips to be equally engaging. Four paddling seasons later I am still hooked. I spent the better part of the 70’s and 80’s rock climbing and mountaineering around the world. These days the obligations of family and love of the sea make kayaking a good match for me. We have a summer house in Old Saybrook CT so I get out most weekends paddling in Long Island Sound. Other times I paddle in local rivers and the Mass. Coast. Now if I can just find some time I will start another boat and take advantage of the incredible knowledge gained from reading this board almost daily.
