Another way of looking at would be to look at the overall increase in volume as a result of the lighter hardener . . . This turns out to be 2.94% for a 2:1 mix. If you end up mixing 2 inches of resin in a mixing cup, and assuming the measuring cup is a cylinder, that amounts to 58 thousandths of an inch. If the measuring cup is tapered, as most are, it's about half that, perhaps 30 thousandths of an inch. The viscosity will cause the resin to creep up the edge more than that, probably producing more error than weighing the stuff . . . ;-)
Really, I have weighed in a graduated cup as a test when first beginning, and I couldn't tell any difference.
