TS Blade for ripping strips?

Hi all,
I need a blade for my 5/8" arbor Makita 2703 table saw. It came with a 10" blade that seems a little too beefy to rip strips with. Could anyone recommend a good blade to use? This is my first boat project so any help would be appreciated.
