Outer Island deck inlay *Pic*

Well, I finished covering the deck with strips and immediately took a saw to it (for the inlay). It's just a wavy band that turned out looking kind of snake-like. I toyed with the idea of putting a head on one end, but decided I didn't want to be looking at a snake head the whole time I'm paddling. Of course, now I'll be staring at a pointy-ended nematode. Oh well, the deed is done. Perhaps a name is in order - trichinella.

Here's a picture of the aft deck inlay which I assembled over the weekend. There's a couple other photos on my website.
