: I'm getting ready to build a strip kayak and I've just about got all the
: tools I need.It has been suggested by lots of folks that a bandsaw works
: well to cut forms(as well as other stuff)but wouldn't a scroll saw work
: just as well with the bonus of being used for cutting/fitting strips,
: veneer work etc? Comments or suggestions anyone? Thanksi have both a scroll saw and a big metal-work bandsaw. i've found the bandsaw with a wood cutting blade to be faster and more accurate for cutting out forms, and miscellanious cutting chores. the scroll saw is very usefull for things like cutting out the square hole for the box beam that nick suggests in his book. haveing both is better but if i could only have one i'd take the bandsaw, hands down.
happy building;
daren......
