I'm Jim Wesley, for my day job I trade ocean freight for a commodities trading company. I live in Newtown, CT, one wife, 2 teenage boys. Have been canoeing off and on for 35 years in New England and New York. Over the past couple years have been drawn more to LI Sound and fish and cruise there in a solo canoe a few times a week in good weather. Started building in 1998 with the idea to have some nice performing boats on the cheap. Trying to build a boat per year. Have completed a couple of canoes and my present project is a kayak, an 'Endeavor', which I hope to get wet in early June. Thank you all for your input and advice on this board, and especially the pictures of some wonderful boats. I hope to try and build some fine boats like these someday but for now I'm happy to be paddling.
