: I use just a cheap 24 dollar sprayer with a water seperator
: Hi Doug,
: I have been thinking about getting a sprayer for applying paint & varnish
: to the kayaks.: Been looking at the Wagner "airless" type of sprayer. Figure that
: "airless" would be preferable to conventional sprayers because
: they would not dissipate the solvents in the varnish as badly. The Wagners
: come in a variety of "duties" and are rated by their power. By
: reading the boxes, it looks like the 85 watt model is too light a duty and
: I think that I would have to go for the higher model - I forget the rating
: number.: What brand & model of sprayer are you using? Would you buy this sprayer
: again or would you change to an other one with different features?: What do you do with the sprayer in-between spray sessions to stop it from
: plugging up with varnish?: BTW, what is a "water seperator"?
: Somebody once commented that if you consider the setup and cleanup times for
: these sprayers that they were more bother than it was worth and a brush
: would be much more efficient.: Comments?
: Thanks.
: Hank
Never try Wagner on varnish, but it works bad with latex or acyclic. I have the high power model. The paint bounced off the wall so much that when I was done to one side of the wall on my house, I was completely brown from head to toe. It was a windy day; but I tried all power setting as well as the openning in all combination. Would I buy another Wagner? Why should I if I gave mine to Goodwill?
