: I don't believe you have a need for an air compressor. The staplers that use
: air would bury the staples and with most compressors, they have filters
: for moisture, but, still get a little out the hose. You don't want the
: moisture or the contaminates from spraying off the dust.I have a 6.5 hp with 60 gal tank which is a replacement for a small portable. The portable was so handy that I kept adding air tools and needed the bigger unit. Just having the air blower is handy to keep dust out of motors and off surfaces.
I picked up the portable for free because the owner thought the motor was bad. I fixed it by cutting off 6 in. of the cord and putting on a new plug.
I have a 2 hp dust collector but it is not hooked up yet. I suspect that it will become as indispensable as the air compressor. It is also a garage sale item. It had a 3 ph motor that I need to find a single phase replacement for.
