Tight seams on CLC kayak. Fluting and Beading?
Posted By: Will Stark
Date: Tuesday, 18 January 2000, at 2:52 p.m.
Some strip builders use flute and beading to achieve tight seams (See picture). The concave edge (flute) fits into the convex edge (bead) allowing for a continuous tight seam along the entire length of the joint.
Has anybody tried this flute and bead edging on the plywood panels of a CLC or Pygmy boat?
Thanks, Will
