> in place while they dry using LOTS of duct tape.I had a similar problem on the final strips of a canoe - they weren't nearly as long as yours will be, but this may help. I cut a scrap strip into approx 2" lengths, then positioned one of these "blocks" across (perpendicular to) my final strip, then duct taped the block down with a decent amount of pressure. That was enough to hold my final strip flush with the adjacent strips. I think a longer block would provide more pressure since the angle of the tape would become more perpendicular to the face of your deck.
