In Response To: Ripping blade (Mike)

You might look at 7 1/2" diameter, thin-kerf, carbide tip blades, those made for your portable circular saw. They cut out about a 1/16" wide path, and it will still rip a 1 1/2" thick board while mounted in your table saw (Deltas, anyway). Depending on how fussy you are, you may get an acceptable surface with a 24-tooth unit without planing.

They are available at most full-service tool temples like Grizzly, Home Despot, etc.

Also, they come in a range of 'thin', which seems to mean anything less than 1/8", so be ready to convert thousands of an inch into something meaningfull. They run about $10 to $15, but in cedar they seem to last forever.
