In Response To: colloring Mas Epoxy (Jack Mitenbuler)

hi jack ,good idea but it takes a lot of pigment,a lot, to get the degree of opacity that comes with paint. If you are having problems with scratches that go through to the wood you might consider 6oz instead of 4oz glass. Scratches to the wood are more of a concern for water intrusion to the wood than cosmetics. Scratches that go through to the wood are most likely in an area that you'l see only when the boat is on the car. Try it out on some scrap and see what happens. I think(guessing) that you'll affect the hardness of the epoxy if you add enough to color epoxy that is only a few mils thick. Just my experience playing with the stuff. who knows maybe theres a super pigment out there
