Howdy,

I have enjoyed kayaking since about 2002 when I tried a friend's kayak. I have no idea what it was, but it was fun.

In 2003 I decided to make my own because all the kayaks I wanted were too expensive for me. I built a CLC Chesapeake 17 over the winter and launched it in May of 2004.

I met up with a group of people that paddled together about 3 times a week. My wife tried it a few months later because she saw me having so much fun. I'm glad she did.

In the fall of 2004 I decided to build a strip Guillemot. That took until August of 2005. It wasn't finished, but I got tired of waiting and I wanted to use it while the water was still warm.
