Generally you will want to shorten the endforms when you reduce the distance between the forms. But, you can probably get away with it if you dont. Put all the forms on the stongback except the endforms and lay a couple temporary strips on them. Temporarily put the endforms (stem forms) in place at the length you want. See if it is possible to get the strips to run fair (it should be). Then temporarily place the cross-sectional end forms and adjust them so the strips can run fair. Secure them in place. You may need to grind the forms a little to make the strips run smooth and fair.

Use the same size cockpit. The center of gravity should be approximately in the middle of the boat. Locate the back of the cockpit 14"-16" behind the center point of the boat.
