I have her pretty tight but since I snapped one old blade already I like to stay back a little from full tension.(The screw tension retaining nut has stripped once already and I re-tapped it)The direction thing happens as the stock meets the blade. Mark Duginske at http://highland-hardware.com addresses this and Don Beale has posted also on the reason.I'd be concerned if I was fighting the blade but it's running like a top. You can always tell when you have a machine running in the zone. And by the way you would mess up this finished cut if you sanded it! Two Fingers McCool.
