I'm not an addict; I can quit anytime I want

Hi, I'm Ross. I'm a kayak builder, but I have it under control.
A few years ago I bought a Dagger Edisto (having never paddled one), and outgrew it in a year. My wife inherited it when I bought a Dagger Sitka (having never paddled one). Life was good for awhile, but my wife was having difficulty keeping up with me in the faster Sitka. Having had an interest in building a kayak (since reading Nick's article in Sea Kayaker), I boldly told my wife that I could build a boat that would perform as well as the Sitka, but would be lighter and cheaper. She bought the story, I chose the Panache (having never paddled one), built it, and guess what... it WAS lighter.
After the first building project, I was hooked (but not addicted), so last Fall, I started my Guillemot (having never paddled one), and I finished it this past Spring. Needing a new project, and using the excuse that we needed something to paddle that our dog could join us, I've started on a Wee Lassie II (having only seen one). Knowing that it wouldn't carry me through the Winter (it's snowing in Cleveland today), I've purchased the materials to build the S&G Greenland Kayak from Sea Kayaker (you guessed it, never paddled it).
So now I've got 4 boats in the garage along with 2 cars, and no reasonable place to store the boats that are in the pipeline. But I don't have time worry about practical things like that, I've just got to keep building.
Ross
