Hi Mark,

I've been thinking about this problem for a while, golf cart and all.

My nephew has a paper round and he had his dad make up a trailer for his bike, the hitch on the trailer is a ring bolt such as is screwed into solid rock to attach ropes to (about a 1 1/2" ring). this is welded into a piece of pipe that is bent in such a way as to not interfere with the bikes rear wheel and is attached to the trailers axle. the bikes hitch is just a steel rod welded to the steel seat post and bent into an L shape. So that the ring bolt just slips over the top of the "L" , he's used it for years without a problem. it looks fairly crude but it works, and the trailer's centre of gravity is about the same as the bikes, though I'm not sure that this is important.

I've been wondering if I could mount the same sort of hitch on my bike with a couple of hose clamps and then just slip the grab loop on my kayak over the "L" hitch on the bike. I havn't tried it yet cause the boats not done, but I'm sure I could make it work, just need some wheels on the other end of the boat (that, of course, is where the golf cart comes in).

Although, this could end up like sooo many other of my ideas....

Paul.
