'Pulls a la Cart' (Pa -dwg11/13)

Pulls, Hitches and Handholds:
Carts are all well and good, but how the heck do you pull them? You could grab onto the bow rope or end grab, but it's hard on the hands after a while and the damn bow keeps slammin' into yer calves or the backs of yer knees. But it also needs to be minimal, easy, cheap, etc,etc.
So let's use what we already have - the paddle. The cart is pretty much on the balance point (slightly behind), so the weight is no prob. So get out another trusty web clamp and clamp the paddle so 1/2 of it sticks out the front. You have to use a restraint (the bowloop or the guywires or put one back around the coaming). Place some padding for wear points if necessary - then clamp that sucker down! I tell you, it works great! -easy on the hands, the leverage is handy and no more bangin' the leg. Take a look at that dwg of me at midnite - it works fine.
You could also make up a little no hands harness really easy.
But why not use it for a bike hitch too? Use full paddle or take apart, faired blades or not. Why not? - it's not hard. Why have difficulty finding a place to store it all when it's all mostly in front of you and so easily stowed? Why spend the big bucks for a construction monstrosity like the ones we were shown when you have most of what you need right in your shop? Ya - just - gotta - like - it!
