I've been on the water since age 10 (now early 50's) in canoes, dinghies, cruisers (power and sail)--but never a kayak until summer 2001, and I'm now a boatbuilder as of spring 2002. As a family doc, I find occasional bits of techniques that carry over (and at least I can always swipe extra gloves from the office)!
