: I want to use epoxy to glue all the strips (hull and deck) on my kayak.
: I'm using bead and cove strips for the hull and square for the deck.
: The epoxy is three systems. I plan to mix small batches and apply with a
: brush. All comments more than welcome.I have a Cosine Wherry (my first boat). It's directions said to use a hot melt
glue gun. This worked very well; it is quick and easy, it holds the
strips together nicely. It sets up fast, you just put a spot
every few inches, or a small bead, and hold
the strip down. It probably isn't waterproof but as Nick says, you
encapsulate the whole assembly anyway. It scrapes and sands readily,
and no staples were required. The results are pretty good (for a first boat).
Have fun!
