: I am thinking of purchasing a valley kayak-pintail model-any information on performance in rough weather, following seas-handling, stability, etc-will have skeg.thanks. alot
This is a wonderful boat. I have owned a close cousin, the Anas Acuta, for many years. These are great in rough weather if equipped with a retractable skeg. The rudder also works but putting a rudder on a pintail is like putting an outboard on a windsurfer. They turn easily. They are meant to roll. If you don't plan to roll you may not enjoy the boat so much. Consider the Anas Acuta. They can be ordered with the large rear hatch and bulkhead behind the seat. Feel free to write and ask more.
