In Response To: sheer clamp installation help (chris j)

"should I thicken the epoxy with cotton fibre as with the scarf joints. Should I use anything else(screws or nails)."

The sheer clamps get glued to the side with thickened epoxy and clamps can be used to hold them in place. (Lots of clamps.) Following is a link to a site with some good advice. Be sure to check out "Cheap clamps". If you have access to a good library, a book call The Kayak shop will answer a lot of questions, or it's available from the company the link takes you to, Chesapeake Light Craft.

(Cotton fibre was recommended to me a thickener.)
