In Response To: soft top Jeep roof rack (kyle)

: I am building a cape charles 18' and would just love to carry
: it on my jeep yj. It is a soft top so I need a design for a
: roof rack that can be somehow attached to the frame of the jeep.
: Has this been done?

Aloha Kyle.

I drive an '83 CJ soft top, and I had the same issue.
The front is just a light bar. but the back end
of my rack is custom. It is based on a curved stanless
steel plate mounted on each rear corner. It is mounted
on the corner for strength. Those plates have a tube
welded to them that are 1 inch ID. Then I have a
1 inch OD assembly that slipps in.

If you want to see a poto, let me know, I'll
post one on my www page, (There is one there
already but it is not zoomed in on the rack)

Feel free to contact me for more info.

By the way, I had my rack fabricated in Cherry hill NJ.

Aloha,
Paul
