Skelligs and Blasket island trips

Sorry Guys, I realise I hijacked a thread earlier, so I am postin a new thread.

Here are a couple of galleries of trips a couple of years ago to the Skellig islands an the Blasket Iskands, off the Irish West coast, for those who have not seen them and may be interested.

Thanks- great pics.

Were the Skellig 'residences' used by monks/hermits or did families live there? Seasonal or year-round? Harsh-looking spot.

Some nice 'swelly' conditions on the Blaskets trip, too. :-)

Some day I am going to make it over there, it was really enjoyable to see the pics again.

the monks used it as a retreat, probably not much in winter. Everyone should see it once in their lifetime.

there is a water cistern up top at the monastery huts which is still operational to this day, so they had drinking water all year round, and I assume fish, and puffins, until they were sick of puffin omelettes, puffin pie, puffin eggs, puffin soufflé, etc etc.

Hope if I visit you again we'll have better weather than last time, and can make this trip
